Embossed Leaf Card n Envy

I used my Sizzix maple leaf die cut, colored the die cut with various glazes and metallic inks...I ran the leaf thru the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, then used Archival ink to accent the raised embossed areas...trimmed the edges with gold metallic pen, I used pop dots to raise the leaf on the dark green panel, then layered this onto a gold speckle card...I used my square envy die cut to make the envy to match the card...

Nature Journal Book

I made a really cool journal using my die cut envy's and my bind it all machine...I cut covers from cardstock, decorated with images from Innovative Stamp Creations and Ranger inks...
I used 4 square envy die cuts, colored them with distress inks, then stamped the masking tape background image from Innovative Stamp Creations all over the envy...
I also stamped the inside of the covers with the same background...I used 4 envy's to make the book...
I placed them in the book with the flap facing each other...For more info about the square envy's from Debbie's Die Cuts email me at debbiesdiecuts@yahoo.com

Playing with Die Cuts and Cuttlebug Embossing Folders

I used a Sizzix die and cut these flowers...I used punches to cut the circles for the flower centers...I dusted the die cuts with ink, then ran thru the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, then added more color to accent the embossed areas...
The Sizzix Die Cut ornament is cool with the embossed effect...notice I did not put the entire die cut into the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder...I colored the white die cut with markers, then embossed, then added more color to the embossed areas using an ink pad directly onto the die cut...

Keepsake Treasure Box-New Look

I start with the matchbox die cut ...
I used my distress inks to color the box and the wrap using different colors...I then use various images to decorate my box wrap...All images here are from Innovative Stamp Creations...
I then fold up the box...I use clamps when I am in a hurry to hold the end flaps in place until they are dry...
Glue the box to the inside of the sleeve...make sure its lined up correctly...
Then pull the sides up and glue into place...let all this dry completely...

Keepsake Treasure Box-New Look-part 2

When you close the wrap around the box, this is how it will look...
Use a small punch, this one is about 1/2 inch circles...punch 4 and then glue two together, this makes them stronger...
Mark on your box wrap where the closure things will need to be...and attach using brads...
I then used a gold thread to wrap around the closures...
I made two of these so far...I love doing the matchboxes like this...for more info about ordering matchbox die cuts email me at debbiesdiecuts@yahoo.com to see all my die cuts visit http://www.picturetrail.com/debbiesdiecuts

Eagle Card n Envy Set

I love my new square envy die cut...because i love to make square cards...I used Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps http://www.prickleypear.com to make the card background...I love that Tiki image...on a round die cut shape I stamped the harlequin looking background, then over stamped with the eagle image...I used chalks on the eagle...I used a beautiful golden orange and black trimmed ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, layered across the card, then added the layering of the round die cut onto a black layering square...I stamped the verse, cut it out and colored it with butterscotch ink...trimmed it in black and glued onto the card front...For the envy, I used my Tea Dye Distress pad and stamped the pad onto the envy like a shadow stamp...then over stamped those areas with the tiki image, then stamped the eagle again in the lower right corner...I then dusted the entire envy with butterscotch ink and a color duster brush...for more info about the die cuts used http://www.picturetrail.com/debbiesdiecuts.com

Treat Box Idea

This is a cool treat box, I have been making these little favor boxes for about 10 years now...I helped a gal make 100 for a wedding reception once...gees...I never thought we would see the end of blue and silver cardstock...she made the boxes from dark blue cardstock and then die cut silver cardstock bells to go on the sides and then filled them will silver wrapped hershey's kisses...and used silver and blue ribbon for the handles...I start with a 6 x 6 square of cardstock, then score every two inches, from two sides...then cut into the scores just to the middle section of two opposite sides...like the picture above shows...
This shows the inside of the box, onces the sides are folded up and glued into place...You can add an embellishment to both sides, or just one, depending on the look you want...you can also add ribbon handles...do this before you add the outter embellishment layer...
I used a background stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps to create a distressed looking background...I die cut Sizzix flowers from white cardstock, used inks to color then layered and glued onto the sides...I will go back with Stickles Glitter Glue from Ranger and make the flower center...
Just think of the possibilities for this little box...you can also make it into a square box...I used to do those and then make little toppers for them...I will try and make one to show later...

Zoo Book Accordian Book with Prickley Pear

This is the cover of my latest accordian book, made using my Sticky Notes Book Cover die cut...I used photos from a recent zoo trip and the wonderful animal images and verses from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps...Nicole has the coolest ever animals...You can see these and lots of other awesome images at http://www.prickleypear.com I used a bazill cardstock to cut the sticky notes book cover from...I liked the texture that it takes on...I stamped the cheetah background all over the cover, then dusted it lightly with Lettuce adirondack ink using a color duster...I stamped the images using various Ranger Inks...
This is the first image on the top accordian panel...its also the first animal at the small zoo we have in our area...I wish I could have gotten a better photo of the rhino...but the sign said I could not cross those bars...LOL...and I figured there was a reaon for that...like, maybe I could not outrun the rhino...

The zoo also has 3 beautiful cheetah cubs...although now, they do not look like cubs anymore...they so cool...they have them do whats called a morning run...I got some really good photos of them one morning when we got there early...

More Zoo Book Accordian

We no longer have elephants at this zoo...they got too expensive for the feeding...so the elephants were shipped off...but I wanted to use all my animal images in this book...They are presently raising money to get a giraffe...it will be one that we can feed and pet...but in the meantime...the pigmy goats will have to do...The giraffe is my grand daughters favorite animal...she got to feed one when she was a baby at a zoo in Florida...and she was hooked...
We do have wolves at the zoo...but I cannot get a good enough photo of them...so I used the alligator picture instead...the wolf pen, is right next to the gator swamp...its one of my favorite areas at the zoo...especially when its not crowded...
We have eagles at the zoo...but I could not find the photos of them...so I used the buffalo photo here...There are quite a few zebras...I love it when they are being playful and running...this one kept walking right past us, like he knew I was taking his picture...I cut apart all of the verse images from Prickley Pear...I wanted them to fit and fill up the spaces around the photos...I love the way the book turned out...Thanks for letting me share...
Overview of the book...I am going to let my grandson take this one to school to show his classmates...most all of the kids at his school have been to this zoo...We buy season passes, so we can go all the time...For more info about the Sticky Notes book cover check out http://www.picturetrail.com/debbiesdiecuts or email me at debbiesdiecuts@yahoo.com and remember check out Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps for some awesome images and verses...

Painted Wooden Doggie

This is one of the wooden cutouts I used to make and sell...it is cut from 3/4 inch pine, I used my band saw to cut him out...then basecoated and painted him...I kept one for myself, this one sits on my stamping desk...I call him my mascot...

Bamboo Tile Necklace

This is one of those bamboo placemat tiles...I used Alcohol Inks for the background, then stamped the Innovative Stamp Creations image onto the tile using Stazon Ink...I sealed the front with Ranger Glossy Accents...Betsy carries a wonderful stamp line as well as Ranger products and more http://www.innovativestampcreations.com

"inchies" AI with ISC

These "inchies" are done on glossy cardstock using the Alcohol ink background and stamped with Stazon ink...All images are from Innovative Stamp Creations new Inchies Art sheet...I trimmed each inchie with Copper metallic pen...

Frames are Fun

I love my 4 inch square frame...its so versatile...and allows for a beautiful stamped border...This frame uses Innovative Stamp Creations newest stamps...After stamping, I used Butterscotch ink and my color duster to give it a nice autumn glow...then added the beautiful velvet rick rack from Really Reasonable Ribbon...this stuff is gorgeous...
Here is the frame with a sunflower from my garden, with the bees busy on the face of the flower...Another one for my scrapbook...
This frame is so cute...I used my Black Soot distress pad to color the frame...then used black ink to stamp the Happy Halloween verse from Stubby Stampers...I used Really Reasonable Ribbon Ghost ribbon to make a border, then used one along with the black and white stiped grosgrain, to make an embellishment...Now, I just gotta find me a little ghost to go in the frame...LOL...

Accordian Book using Sticky Notes Cover

This is one of my favorite little books to make...I had not done one in a while...so, I wanted to step by step this one for you...I begin with the Sticky notes cover die cut http://www.picturetrail.com/debbiesdiecuts then I cut two pieces 3 x 3 and use my corner rounder to round the corners...these will be inside layering pieces...
Next, using either a distress pad, or any ink pad or other coloring method you choose...Color both sides of the sticky notes cover die cut...and the outside of the 3 inch squares...
These are my colored pieces...I just rub the ink pad directly onto the die cuts, very lightly tho...so that I still have a stampable surface...
Now I add a background image...I used Betsy new swirl background...I inked it up with a contrasting color of distress ink...I just love those Ranger Distress colors...

More book instructions

After you have stamped the outer surfaces of all three pieces you are ready to begin construction of the cover...
First, you will apply glue to the flap that folds in...this is just a stabilizing part of the shape...be sure the closer flap is outta the way, you don't want to get glue on it...
Once you have your glue on this section, fold it down and press to glue securely...
Now, you can work on the flap on the other end of the die cut...If you notice I used some blue ink to show you exactly where to put the glue...do not glue this flap down completely...or then you will not be able to slide the flap for your closure...
Glue that flap down and let dry...

Now we are making a book cover

Once those flaps are dry, you can attach your two 3 inch square layers...
Now, turn your book over and you can stamp your back, spine and front covers...All images used in this book are from Innovative Stamp Creations...I just love Betsy women images...and use them quite often in my books...Once your cover is done...you are ready to make the inside accordian of the book...
You will cut two pieces from a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock 2 and 7/8 inch wide...Then using your Scor It Board, or other scoring method of your choice...Betsy also sells the Scor It Boards...You will score the 2 and 7/8th inch wide piece, every 2 and 7/8ths inches...Once you score both pieces, cut the little ends off that you will not need...then accordian both pieces and join to make one long accordian from this...it should look like the picture here... Now I have started adding some background interest images to the accordian piece...
Oh, be sure and mark the back of the accordian...This is the panel that will glue into the inside back of the book cover...So there is no sense stamping it...

Stamping the Accordian

I chose the face images I wanted to use...and stamped every other panel with a face...then using various stamps I created a pleasing background with words and verses...
Be sure and stamp both sides of your accordian...except for the glue down panel...
I wanted some color to the faces...but not much...so I went in with chalks and added color to the lips, cheeks and eye lids...This gives each face some dimension, but does not take away from the look I wanted for my book...
Can you tell I like green eyes...LOL...I have green eyes...and like to use green on the eyelids of these beautiful women images that Betsy has designed...
And don't forget, to add a face to the book inside panel...I also added a word stamp to the inside of the spine area...
