I love frames...thats one reason I designed this custom 4x4 frame die...I covered the frame with pink paper, then using a contrasting pattern paper, trimmed the bottom edge with my martha punch, added some ribbon, hearts and flower...fun and quick to make...

I love my die cut frames/mats...and this one with the oval cut out opening is great to work with...I ran it thru the Cuttlebug folder with the pumpkins...I colored the pumpkins by rubbing first Butterscotch ink then Ginger ink...I stippled some Library green lightly over the rest of the frame...I colored one of the bird die cuts with black ink and a swirl with Library Green ink...The photo is of my mom on a visit to our local Pumpkin Patch two years ago...
I love this frame with the oval opening...I wanted to give it a "manly" feel...perfect for the hunter, fisherman, hiker, etc...I love those pattern papers, they have such a "camo" look to them, as far as the colors...I layered the two pattern papers over the chipboard frame...I used Cuttlebug punched leaves, sponged the edges with ink and gave them a little dimension by rolling them over my bone folder...
This little round embellishment thing, was something I got in a swap years ago...had a couple dozen of them given to me...I used a piece of the very fine jute that I got from Really Reasonable Ribbon...a tad of pump action hair spray and a steel crochet hook...wet the jute slightly with the hair spray, twirl it around the crochet hook end...hold it until the hair spray dries, just takes a few seconds or so...or stand in front of the fan like I did...LOL...it will hold the curl...ain't that just the coolest tip...we used to do that years ago...to add curls to our jute hair dolls we used to make back in my decorative painting days...
This is my favorite frame...of course its a custom die cut, I had the die made, so I could have a 4 x 4 inch frame with a 2 x 2 inch opening...I use this frame all the time in projects, scrapbook layouts and more...Can ya tell I am getting in holiday mode...I am going to make most of my Christmas and Holiday gifts this year...and this is the beginnings of some of those items...
I coated a red flourish with stickles glitter glue...fitted it onto the corner area, then trimmed off the excess...I added the beautiful red flower to the opposite corner...This will be perfect for a Christmas share photo...

I had so much fun designing this project...This is an original design project, using my die cut frames...This project uses my custom design square frame...the frame is 4 x 4 with a 2 x 2 opening...I made a folder for the frames to be mounted in...this will fold flat for mailing, giving, etc...I cut pattern paper frames, cut them apart and reversed them on the chipboard bases...I used ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon in perfectly matching colors...thats the awesome thing about Debbie's ribbons...she has colors to match everything out there...
This is the back side of the frame folder...I have not embellished it yet...I have photos of my grand daughter that will go into each frame...
The frames have been attached on each side and across the bottom using red liner tape...the photos will be slipped in thru the top...this will allow for photos to be changed as needed...Oh, wait til you see the next one I am working on...
I had to start one with a masculine theme...did not have time to do any more to this one yet...but the colors are great for a manly photo to go into...I used the oval inside frame and I like the look of this one...I have another one in the works...but will wait until its complete before I show it...
I love those Cuttlebug embossing folders...and I love my die cut frames...I covered the cardstock frame with two coordinated pattern papers, embossed each section with a different folder and accented the raised embossed areas by rubbing with dye based ink...I also sponged some ink around the edges...
The photo is from my wedding and shows my wedding cake and my cupcakes in the background...I wanted cupcakes, bbq ribs and tater salad at my wedding reception...I am a country girl to say the least...Well, at the last minute I had to have a cake that we could cut...so, I went to wal mart, bought a white on white 1/4 sheet cake, added some silk flowers like the ones in my bouquet and one of those little bride and groom things for the top...
I used a beautiful satin ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to camoflauge the paper joint...the ribbon is lime green with a tiny pink thread edge...it was perfect...
I decided to make the other chicken wallie print a little different...since they are going to be on opposite walls in the room...I wanted different looks...and well yeah, I suffer from that marching to a different drummer syndrome...LOL...Anyway...I used the Cuttlebug diamonds, added foiling in gold and copper and then rubbed a bit of Brilliance gold ink to tone down the black cardstock, looks very nice in person...could not get it to photograph just right tho...
I then did the top part with the pattern paper layer with the swirls...rubbed black ink over the embossing...I did not put this one in its frame yet, the frame was out in the storage room and yes, I was too lazy to go get it...I will get it framed and take another photo this week to show ya both of them side by side...I really like them...now, I want to find more stuff to frame...
I was in a card swap a while back and had a wonderful swap partner that lives in South Africa...Nettie...she sent me a couple of these chicken images...Well, I had no idea where they were from and she told her they were Wallies...and she did not realize how much I love chickens...so, I decided instead of making cards with them...I wanted to frame them and hang them in my kitchen...I started with my largest frame/mat die cut, from black cardstock, it is 5 x 7 in size I cut a pattern paper frame, but only wanted part of it layered onto the black base frame...I ran the top section thru the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, added some foiling adhesive and then used my gold and copper foiling to color the embossed dots...
I then ran the bottom section with the pattern paper thru the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and rubbed black ink over those dots...I added the gold ribbon between the black cardstock and pattern paper sections, taped it onto the chicken image and put it in a pretty gold frame from the dollar store...There are two of the Wallie chickens, the other one is a tad different...as soon as I get it finished, these will hang in my kitchen...Thanks so much Nettie...I am very happy with my new framed chicken prints...
I am really having fun with the foiling techniques on the Cuttlebug embossed frames...The black frame with oval cut out was embossed with the swiss dots folder...I then put foiling adhesive on each little dot and around the outside edges as well as the oval inside edges...I used a mixture of gold and copper applied kinda hit and miss style...I colored the bird and wing die cuts with gold metallic ink, then embossed and rubbed with black ink...I then used caramel adirondack ink to deepen the gold color, attached the wing with a gold brad...I used some silk flowers, added a black punched daisy and gold brad center...
I had some questions about some of my frame die cuts and wanted to share some I have made in the past...This one uses images from Innovative Stamp Creations and some saran wrap and ink to color the background...I glued the silk flowers on with Ranger Glossy Accents and added gold glitter dimensional fabric paint for the centers...

John Deere ATC...Fabric adhered to cardstock, cut with my ATC die...Tractor charm glued on with Ranger Glossy Accents...I made more than one of these...I may have to do an ATC trade soon...
This is my baby boy...my little grandson...I was experimenting with two looks here...not sure what from the looks of it Huh?...but I liked it...My grand daughter saw it this afternoon and said, Oh Nammy, it looks just like a little kid painted that...So...I guess I did achieve the look I was after...LOL...Only one stamp used, a splatter image from Innovative Stamp Creations...
