Wooden ATC with painted scene...

Wooden ATC cut from pine lumber...sanded, painted white, sanded again, scene painted on front, the rest of the ATC is stained using thinned brown acrylic paint...

Coaster Accordion Book

I made an accoridion panel with dark blue cardstock, once folded I rounded the corners with my Zutter corner rounder, it matches the coaster corners perfectly...

I stamped the snowman image and painted with acrylic paints, once I attached the accordion panel, used gold elastic cording as the binding method...has plenty of room for photos and memorabilia...

Bind it all, lots of uses

I use my bind it all hole spacing for marking holes that I punch using a hole punch, when I dont need all six holes that the bind it all makes....

I only wanted three holes in the cardstock ATC book, so I marked the spacing and used my Crop a dile to punch the holes...

then I can still use the spiral binding and bind using the bind it all machine...I also used one clear snap ring on another cardstock ATC mini book, just punching one hole in the top left corner...the books can be taken back apart to paint and decorate and then put back together, or can be left as they are and decorated with the binding intact...

Mini book with Gingerbread face...

This is from the Jamie Mills Price patterns, with my own spin added...I love those little faces...so i used some round chipboard pieces for the covers and painted the design on...
I added cream colored pages and a clear snap ring binding...I will add some sponging to these little pages, and will use a round punch to add photos of the faces of my grand children...

ATC Accordion Book and Envy...

This is the painted cover of my newest ATC Mini book design...

Accordion panel, folded to fit the ATC envy...
I used post it note to mask off the front panel of the accordion...basecoated it with blue and green for my little barn scene...

ATC envy with green sponge painting...I used 3 colors of green paint to sponge the envy...

after the painting was finished, I sponged the remainder of the accordion panel, I masked the front cover with post it note...

The folded accordion ATC book inside the envy...

ATC mini book with envy...

Painted scene on the cover...I will add some photos to the book later...

Altered Art Mini Book Project

This is one of those little round boxes that Laughing Cow Cheese comes in...I basecoated the box and painted the snowman face on the box front...

Round mini book inside the box....

I used a clear snap ring to bind this book, it fits perfect inside the little box...with room for photos and embellishments to be added...

I sponged various blue paints onto the white cardstock pages, then spattered with white paint...this little book will be perfect to share those snow day photos in...

Coaster with night time scene

I was trying for a more night time look to this scene...hubby says it looks night time, I painted a little cottage scene on a coaster and will use it to make a book...
ah look...a little coaster book...LOL...these books are so much fun to make...I cut kraft colored cardstock pages for the book and used my bind it all to bind the book...

Book mark for swap

Faux fabric background was made using blue acrylic paint, mouse and feet prints was stamped in black archival ink, mouse was painted with acrylic paints, and then Ranger glossy accents over that to make him dimensional...I sealed the entire piece with waterbased varnish...then glued on the lace with glossy accents...

Terra cotta and paper mache

Two of my favorite surfaces to paint on are terra cotta and paper mache...this is a little tiny terra cotta tray about the size of a silver dollar...I painted it dark blue, then added the snowman head in the bottom and sponged the edges...
This is a little 3 inch terra cotta pot...I basecoated the bottom white and the top dark blue...I painted 3 snowman around the pot and spattered with dark blue,

I spattered the top rim with white...this will get filled with candy and given as a Christmas gift...

This is a terra cotta box, base coated with white and then sponged with light blue, I added the snowman head with the hat...this box was fun to paint...

Snowman box and book

This is truly an altered art piece...I dont like to throw out anything that I might be able to create something new from...This little thin round box, is actually one of those Laughing Cow Cheese boxes...thats good cheese by the way...anyway...I basecoated the box with off white acrylic paint, then with 3 coats of blue, I wanted it very midnight dark blue in color...I painted the snowman head on the cover, then spattered the box with white and light blue paints...sealed with 3 coats of waterbased varnish...I was going to just use it as it was...but no...I had to go one step further...and make a mini book to go with it...
Using my 4 inch round die cut from chipboard I made covers for a book that will fit perfect inside the box...It will use a clear snap ring or silver ball chain closure...both of those are in my studio, so I will have to wait and get them later to bind the book...anyway...I basecoated the chipboard circles in the same dark blue, free hand painted the snowman and spattered the covers with white paint...I sealed each with waterbased varnish...

I used white paint on my stamp to stamp the back of the book, I cut white cardstock pages for the book and sponged them with dark and light blue paints, mixed on the sponge...then spattered with white paint too...this will be a perfect little book to share snowday photos in and the little box, will look nice as a year round decoration....

Faux background paper Envy and ATC for swap

I used one of my favorite butterfly images from ISC http://innovativestampcreations.com to stamp the butterfly randomly on the cardstock, then die cut my ATC envy...I used acrylic paint, thinned with water, to color each butterfly,
After that was dry, I spattered the envy with blue acrylic paint, then folded in the envy shaped and taped it...

the ATC's that I made along with a blank ATC will go in the envy to be sent to my ATC swap partner....this is for a decorative painting group swap I am in...

Painted ATC's for swap

I coated the chipboard ATC's with white acrylic paint, then used two colors and green stippled onto the dry base coat, painted the tree limb and leaves, then glued the beautiful collage http://lisasalteredart.com image onto the tree limb, used a liner brush to write the message and then sealed with waterbased varnish...I brought one of the limbs and some leaves over the bird nest to kinda sit the nest onto the limb...
I did a faux chambray demin fabric background on this ATC...then glued on the collage image from http://lisasalteredart.com and wrote the message with paint and a liner brush...sealed it with waterbased varnish when all was dry...

Coaster book for swap

I did a yellow wash over the coasters, then painted the queen anne's lace and coneflowers, spattered the covers and sealed with water based varnish...I made greenn pages for the book...Perfect to hold photos, recipes, memorabilia and more...

Studio area at home...

I am creating myself a little studio area in the spare bedroom, this is what I have set up so far...it will be mostly for painting, but I am going to bring some inks and stamps from The Studio so I can make quick cards, etc...

if I could only end up with this much space once I actually sit down to paint...LOL...
This little shelving unit fit perfectly on the counter top for extra storage...

There is a whole book case under there...LOL...I am only using the top shelf now, but once I get all the "kid" books moved, I will get to use the whole bookcase...

I even have my own tv and dvd/vcr player...so I can watch instructional videos or movies...
