Tag Book Kit--Tutorial

I just love these stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations...The tag book kit was used to make this neat little journal, perfect for sleep over memories, girl parties, autograph books, mini scrapbooks and more...I masked and stamped the cover...The girl is stamped, colored, cut out and layered on the cover...
I used my round and scalloped round punches to make a place for a photo or could be used to journal a special memory date, etc...The wonderful word stamps Betsy designed are perfect for girls to journal with...
These pages use small die cut frames, perfect for photos and lots of room for journaling or friends to pen special memories....The background of the pages was simply done by rubbing the ink pads across the cardstock pages...I used a combination of pink and brown for this book...I have another one in the works, using different color scheme...I used a gold metallic marker to color the centers of the flowers and make faux brad effects on the die cuts too...
When I was in junior high and high school...we used to make our own little autograph or friendship type books...These were booklets that we would get all our friends, teachers, etc to sign during the school year...some people would simply write their names, while others would pen little notes as well...They were fun to make and keep over the years...Most of us just simply folded sheets of copy paper in half stapled and that was it...My best friend and I would usually go back and add stickers, or doodling as we called it and decorate our covers...Unfortunately, all of my books were destroyed...I do still have my senior book, but it was a store bought one...I will have to find it...I know its packed in a box somewhere...Anyway...where I was going with this is...the stamp sheets that Betsy designed http://www.innovativestampcreations.com/ are perfect to making these neat little journals...Call them what you will...Autograph books, Friendship Journals, Friendship Books, etc...there are lots of different names for them...They are fun to make and even more fun to collect signatures from friends and family in...

Shrine Book Cover

I had about 15 minutes after picking the kids up from school and before I had to fix moma's supper...so I ran out to the studio and thru this much of a cover together for my Shrine Book...I covered the chipboard cover with a collage pattern paper, then used some stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations and Ranger Archival Inks and stamped some images on the cover...I stamped the swirl and words after inking, for bolder color and then stamped the other images second generation...after off stamping once on scrap paper...I added the ribbon and acrylic stone with Ranger Glossy Accents as the glue...Gold glitter fabric paint dots on the ribbon...
This is a close up of the detail of the stamping...I will add some more foo foo when I can...I glued the brass filigree corner on with Ranger Glossy Accents...I will punch my binding holes down the left side of the cover with my Bind It All...This was all I had time to get done today, hopefully more over the weekend...

The Pumpkin Patch-Tutorial

I absolutely love pumpkins, Autumn is my favorite time of year...I just feel that God's paintbrush is at its best, when he is changing the colors of the leaves...We have a local attraction during Fall that is called "The Pumpkin Patch"....I love to go there and ogle the pumpkins and sunflowers that grow by the acres in the fields...I started as a white die cut...I trimmed a curve from a piece of scrap paper to be a guide to make the ribs of the pumpkin, I used a sponge to apply the inks...I used a brown marvy marker to color the stem brown...
I used a flourish die cut and some punched leaves to embellish the pumpkin...I used a marvy marker in my spritzer tool to add some spatters to the die cut after I added the leaves...
The detail in the leaves was made by curling them with a bone folder and using pop dots to raise them off the surface of the pumpkin...This is just the beginning of another project, stay tuned for the results...

File Card Book with Brackets and Swirls and Flourishes

I got a couple hours of playtime yesterday...10 minutes at a time...but none the less, playtime...Mother has a cell phone and would call me when she needed something, so at least I was able to create for a while...This is my newest project...a File Card Book...oh, there are so many possibilities with this book...I know I did not do it justice, but wanted so much to share my new toys with you...
After I cut the file cards from chip board, I covered one side with pattern paper and one side with cardstock, that I had colored with ink directly from the pads, to create a faux fabric effect...I love that technique and have used it for years in my projects...I used stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations http://www.innovativestampcreations.com/ to over stamp the backgrounds and create backgrounds on the cardstock pages...Betsy's new stamps have been awesome to coordinate with the new die cuts we have...
And to complete the whole thing...I got my new Cuttlebug embossing folders and oh my gosh...are they "killer" with the die cuts...I also used lots of Stickles glitter glues on the brackets and swirls and flourishes...I love the way the glittery die cuts then look on the pages...

I will have a special offer to post on this book kit...y'all just bear with me...hopefully by tonight, I can get a little more computer time to finish updating and posting...

update on moma's situation

She has a broken right wrist, very badly bruised and swollen left leg, Thank God it did not mess up her mechanical knee, she has had full knee replacement on both legs...3 stitches in her head...and lots of other little bruises, scrapes, etc...Of all days for this to happen, my hubby and I had went to the city...she called me to tell me she fell out the door...my hubby immediately radioed the EMS in our county and they came to her...Thank goodness, with him being in law enforcement and former EMT himself, he could do that so quickly, they took her to the emergency room...and hopefully, with lots of ice packs and rest, she will be better soon...

The lead designer for Debbie's Die Cuts has been busy with her swirl and flourish die cuts...Look at the awesome samples she has made...The Bind it All she purchased from http://www.innovativestampcreations.com has become one of her favorite tools...and the new swirl and flourish die cuts we have are her second...

License Plate Trio Display

The idea for this project came from an original piece that Traci of Accu Cut designed...This is my take on the project...I used black archival ink rubbed directly from the pad to color the chipboard license plate die cuts...I then used various inks as well as some Cuttlebug embossing folders to decorate my embellishment die cuts...I also used some punched flowers to decorate with...This project has endless possibilities...
Add a photo in the frame and put on your desk...or use mini frames on all three to share with Grandma or Aunt Sue...Ya get the idea...I used ribbon to tie the license plate die cuts together...You could use jump rings, fibers, anything that will work...Remember, You are Only Limited by Your Imagination...I will have a special on my studio blog for this License Plate Trio Kit http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com/
