60 Sucks Birthday Bouquet

I had a blast making this Sucker Bouquet...Back when I worked at the M store, we used to make mini versions of this, but with a simple happy birthday stamped and stuck in the container...I had not thought about making those in so many years...but the other day I saw one on Splitcoast Stampers...and it brought back some fun memories of the various bouquets we used to make...So I decided to make this for my hubby's cousins husband today...Its by the Grace of God this man is still here and able to see the big 60...and he will get such a kick outta this...

I started with a terra cotta pot, base coated it white, then with light brown acrylic paint...I used the beautiful wood grain background image from Innovative Stamp Creations...and dark brown acrylic paint...I used a sponge to apply the paint to the stamp, then repeatedly stamped it around the pot...after it dried, I spattered on some black acrylic paint, let that dry then sealed with some waterbased varnish...

My goal was to fill the pot with 60 suckers...it has more than sixty...as I got carried away....LOL...I filled the pot with styro foam, then covered the top of the foam with green tissue paper, so if any showed thru, well, needless to say, I used enough suckers...it does not show...LOL...

I made the message and attached them to wooden skewers so they would be taller and line the back side of the bouquet...I used the same wood grain background stamp to stamp the rust colored cardstock, then used a circle punch to punch out my first layer, then used my nesties to get the black layer, then the scalloped nestie for the green layer, I also cut a green layer using that first punched shape...I used my Fruit smoothie sizzix alpha...for the message...I attached the pieces to the skewers with glossy accents for the glue, then used the green round shape as a backing...

Quick Mini Carry All Box Ideas

I used a yellow cardstock to make this box...I added the pattern paper inside liner, and if you notice, I trimmed a tad smaller so that I had a border of the cardstock showing...I used the pumpkin die cut, colored with ink, added a leaf punched shape...

This box uses white cardstock die cuts with black ink swiped on to add some color...I used the die cut ghosts, I cuttlebug embossed the small one with the dots folder...

My mom said, why don't you do one for each holiday...LOL...so I started with these two...You can get the die cut boxes here http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com

More Mini Carry All Box/Baskets...

I made a sheriff box for my hubby...I will put Easter candies in there and give it to him for Easter as a little surprize...

I used a pattern paper with a barn wood look to it...stamped and colored then cut out the sheriff star and mounted onto a scalloped nestie circle...

This box was fun to make...I just had to make a box that used the Cuttlebug embossing folders...I cut out pieces for the inside liner and sides, embossed and colored with inks and markers, then glued in place..

I added a nestie bird and scalloped circle for the front and back embellishments...I ran the bird thru the CB dots folder...I am going to put jelly beans and give to a friend for Easter...

Mini Carry All Box using the Trunk Box Shape

I started with white die cuts
I stippled both sides of each box die cut with blue and green inks, then I used the swirl background image from Innovative Stamp Creations and stamped with blue ink all over both sides of each die cut...

I put the boxes together and added the striped pattern paper liner to the inside back of the box, used the word image from Innovative Stamp Creations stamped on a scalloped square...See more boxes in the next posting...Check out the studio blog for a special kit being offered on this die cut... http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com

Mini Carry All with the Trunk Box Die Cut

I used white die cut boxes and colored them with green ink, then trimmed pattern paper for the sides and the inside back liner...

I cover a piece of cardstock with the same pattern paper and punched a circle, I cut a scalloped nestie shape and stamped the message from Innovative Stamp Creations and glued this on the box front and back...

The only candy I had in the house was peppermints, so put some in to take this picture...

Here are the 3 boxes I made today...See a special kit offer for this die cut box on my studio blog

Scrapbook Layout 8x8

I had fun making this 8x8 scrapbook page...I used my new Xpreshons stamps from The Paper Hollow, Ranger inks and my die cuts and punches...I stamped all the images, then used Ocean green and Watermelon red inks from Ranger and a sponge to color the white cardstock page and die cuts...I layered the 4x4 square frame onto black cardstock, cut a curly swirl from black and used my martha punch to border the black background for the stamped journaling...

Elvis book gift today

I just had to share...My hubby's birthday was today...I gave him the Elvis Book and box I made for him...He LOVED it...oh my gosh..he made me feel so good...

Layered Skinny Max Book

This is pages 3 and 4...I used a cut apart swirl die cut on page 4, colored the little flowers with gold metallic acrylic paint...on page 5 I ran both shapes thru cuttlebug embossing folders and enhanced the embossing by rubbing an ink pad over the top, then smoothed both pieces flat with my bone folder...The swirl background is for a photo to be layered onto...the flower one, can be used for a photo or left as a page embellishment...I added the acrylic stones using Ranger Glossy Accents...
This is actually page 1 and 2...I have not done the cover yet, I used one of the new swirl shapes, cut apart to accent using the swirls embossing folder on the frame...I made the little oval frame on the first page, by cutting out the center of the oval with a punch...ran thru the diamonds embossing folder...the frames are attached only on one side, so photos can be added then the frames permanently attached on each page...
This is page 5, I kept it kinda simple, since this was the largest frame I was using in the book...I added the flower with organza ribbon after scuffing the frame with ink and gold paint...i also distressed the edges and added gold paint...
This is the last page...the star background paper was fun to work on...I decided to use very different looks for each frame and then tie together using the flourish and star embellishment on each side...

The Studio got rearranged today...

I worked my keister off today...between finishing up my hubby's birthday present and rearranging the studio...gees...I used muscles...LOL...don't look at the messy tables...yeah...I gotta work on that part...hopefully now, I have places to keep stuff...so that should help...
I moved my work area to the windows...I love having the natural light to work by...and it really helped open up the room once I did that...

I run the tables down the middle of the room...and it really made the room look more efficient and gives it a flow now...

I will enjoy being at the windows, as I like the outdoors and this always helps my muse...

This side of the room will get a mini makeover next...I am going to use a small filing cabinet to sort and hold my scrap paper, colors and patterns...etc...

I was able to get two shelved cleared off of this bookcase to put my containers that have my fibers and some of my ribbons in...I love having my new laptop hubby got me for my birthday...
at least now, I can have computer with me in the studio...but you see who is on it...LOL...

Elvis Mini Book Album

I finished the Elvis Mini Book Album for my hubby's birthday present next weekend...I used Elvis fabric and covered the chipboard shape for the album cover...
I loved the simplicity of the colors, the black and teal Elvis print was perfect for this color scheme...I copied photos of my hubby and printed them on glossy photo paper...

I wanted to use all those pictures of him and some with his little brother, so i decided to make little flip pages on the first teal page...

I love the way to page turned out...and each photo size being different adds to the look...

I didn't want too much foo foo...but I did use some of the swirls, flourishes and bracket die cuts throughout the book...I trimmed each photo, so that they would fit nicely on the pages and then layered each onto black cardstock, then used my corner rounder to add interest to the shapes...rounding all corners or just opposite ones...

The photos in this book tell a story that my hubby relates to and holds dear...The last picture is of his recent swearing in ceremony, he was made Captain and Chief Deputy...I added the last two photos on the inside black cover because I know they are special to him...his Pa and Grandma and his daddy riding a cow down the road...

Another Box Project...

I made another wrap for the box and made it to close at the top...I used my nesties to make the scallop and round pieces for the top flap...then used my Sizzix alpha for the letter...run it thru the Cuttlebug folder and added the Sizzix photo turn closure...

Here is the box open...
The Monogram box is made with the 2x2 mini envy...the other box is made from the 2.5 x 2.5 envy...I used pattern paper and ribbon to decorate this box...
