More Faux Aged Metal with Patina Verdigris Effect Techinque

I had to go a bit crazy with my Faux Aged Metal Patina Verdigris Effect Technique...I love the "wrought iron" effect of these die cuts using my technique...I have played with so many die cuts today...seeing what worked with what...Here are some of those experiments...Sometimes, I think my studio is more like a lab...cause I love to experiment with stuff...I like the effects on the hardware type die cuts...the hinges and photo holders are cool with this technique...I actually had wrought iron cabinet door hinges in a kitchen where I lived once...that had this look to them...
I can remember some old embossed tinware and metal ware my great aunt had when I was a kid...This effect is my version of what I remember...I know there were some fruit shapes embossed on a platter, it was black and I remember the gold and black specks...its neat to be able to recreate something similar on cardstock...
I had been wanting to try this technique of partially embossing a die cut on these little flower post die cuts from my Sizzix die...and figured this was the perfect opportunity...I started with black die cuts, and just embossed the rim of the pots...then used my technique to create adorable little faux wrought iron looking pots...These would be adorable with little tiny flower arrangements coming outta the tops...
The sizzix die has two sizes of flower pots perfect in size for ATC's and more...The small pear die cut is also perfect for ATC's...

These are made from my ATC size frame die cut...I used stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations http://www.innovativestampcreations.com I based coated each of these chipboard die cuts with off white acrylic paint, then one with teal/patina colored acrylic paint and the other I colored with Carnation Archival ink...When dry, I stamped each with Black Document ink...Added the gold metallic paint, applied with a waded up piece of saran wrap...and spattered on some black paint...I added some black sponging around the edges, for added dimension...
These two frames were fun to make...I started with black base coated cardstock die cuts...then using the patina colored acrylic paints, stamped the background images from Innovative Stamp Creations...on each frame...added the gold metallic accents and some black spattering...
Once I had stamped the frames using the acrylic paint, I tossed each stamp into a bowl of water until I could wash the paint off thoroughly...they came perfectly clean...
I like the effects of these embossing folder bakcgrounds too...I am working on some other pieces...Stay tuned for some more cool projects using my technique and some twists I am already adding to it...
