Plaid Folk Art Metallic Paint Backgrounds Tutorial

It has been years since I did this technique...I ran across a box in my studio that had some of my metallic paints in it...So...what the heck...seemed like perfect timing to me...I do this on any color of cardstock...I start with 3 colors of metallic paint...a dark, medium and light or accent color, usually a gold...Put out about quarter size dollops of metallic paint...use a separte piece of saran wrap for each color...begin with the darkest color first, then add the middle color and then the lighter or accent color...I do sometimes use 4 colors, but 3 usually works fine...the wadded up shape of the saran wrap makes beautiful and interesting patterns as you work...I use Black Document Ink for stamping over this paint background technique...This technique can be done using any color of cardstock, even on glossy...This sample is done on glossy black...but I did not have time to make anything with it today...
This sample is done on regular black cardstock...I also did some on dark blue today...and used it on a card in the next posting...
This is a close up of a paper mache box I did about 10 years ago...I basecoated the box with black acrylic paint, then used a sponge to add the metallic colors of paint...This little box stores some beads that I use occasionally...

This looks like a really cool technique! Does any kind of paint work? What brand did you use?
